Dislikes: Arguments, Hunters, sudden loud noises, holy relics, bright light.
Dumas started out life as more of an abstract concept than anything else. Silence, that of those who do not speak when they should, do not act when they can; that is where Dumas began, and from what he takes his name. Then, at some unknown point, there was enough "Silence" to materialise into a physical form, spawned from hell, a physical sin of the not quite so deadly variety.
He was picked up by Gilbert one day, the higher ranking demon simply happening across him and taking a liking to this kid who didn't talk back to him. For Dumas, it was something new. He had to be taught that he couldn't chew on everything he saw, for one thing. Under Gilbert's tutilage, he grew, learned, and rose a little above the level of hellspawn.
During a trip to Earth with Gilbert in the late 1600s, Dumas snuck out to go see what all the fuss was about. What were humans really like? They were certainly louder than what he thought they would be. All he knew of humans was silence. So when a little girl sat down next to him in a grassy field and started chatting away at him, he didn't quite know what to do. She was gone as quick as she'd come, not minding that Dumas hadn't answered back. He continued to sneak out of the house to see her, never saying much, but finding her name was Felicia Vargas.
Upon hearing the name of the Hunter clan, Gilbert immediately took Dumas back to Hell, for safety's sake. Though he loves his brother, Dumas will never forget that little girl, his first friend in the world.
